What we collect, why, and who else sees it.

Birth data is sensitive

To cast a chart we need your date, exact time, and place of birth. Combined with your name this is identifying, and in some jurisdictions it may reveal information treated as a special category. We treat it accordingly: it is used to compute your charts and the guidance you ask for, and it is not sold.

You may delete a saved person or chart at any time from your dashboard.

What we collect

Account details (name, email) via our identity provider; birth details you enter; charts and interpretations generated for you; consultation bookings, messages and reviews; payment metadata (never full card numbers); and standard technical logs.

Who processes it for us

Auth0 (sign-in), Stripe (payments and practitioner payouts), Google Cloud (hosting and database), Google Vertex AI and Anthropic (generating interpretations), and Resend (transactional email).

Chart data sent to a model provider for interpretation is sent for that purpose only.

[REVIEW NEEDED] Confirm each processor’s current data-processing terms and sub-processor list before approval, and confirm whether a DPA and international-transfer mechanism are required for your user base.

When an astrologer sees your data

When you book a consultation, the astrologer you booked can see the chart and the details you chose to share for that consultation. They do not have access to your other charts.

Retention and your rights

We keep your account data while your account is open. You can ask us to export or delete your data by writing to support@josiam.com.

Some records — payment and payout history in particular — are kept as long as required for tax and accounting.
